Find a different vendor. Three weeks ago Discount Tire/Americas Tires moved my 185/R14 Agilis from the stock VW steel rims (14", 5 1/2") rims to stock VW alloy 14" /6" rims without any question. They sold me the Agilis originally. There was absolutely no comment on their part about swaying. And my own experience, although subtle, the Westy feels a hair MORE stable on the alloys. Question for the list: When new and equipped with alloys, what was the tire size provided by VW? 185 or 205/70?
