Hi Chris,

I have had plenty of offers for the throttle body, plus plenty of good advice on repairing my old unit. So I took mine out again last night, cleaned it thoroughly, lubed it up, and carefully set the switch (per Bentley, continuity at .05mm, no continuity at .10mm) and this morning it worked fine. Today I enjoyed the smoothest cold start and drive I've had in a long time. I still think the small gaskets top and bottom need to be replaced and if I can find those part numbers (help anyone?) then I will replace them. Otherwise, I think this problem may be solved. We'll see.

Thanks to all who responded. Robert, I may still be interested in your throttle body just in case my repair does not hold up.
