The last few reprint of the Bentley Vanagon manual has a listing of specs on the back cover con rod specs are there hundreds of changes have been made to the big green book over the years and there is nothing like the smell of a fresh copy Bob Donalds ----- Original Message ----- From: "zolo" <zolo@FOXINTERNET.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 2004 11:36 PM Subject: CONROD NUTS TORQUE

I looked and could not find the torques specs for the conrod nuts. This is a 2.1 L regular van. 87 model. Also, I must say, I am flabbergasted to see that there is no torque listing in the Bentley of all the bolts and nuts of importance on one page. I had to gather all I needed for assembling the engine from fifty different pages, hunting for the torque figures. Kind of non germanic arrangement. I noticed that many essentials are missing or ignored or you just have to guess. Oh vell... ve are not all the same. Zoltan
