I ran a light oil through them after I tested them for running on gas. For the test run they were set up with a couple lengths of hose connected to a one gallon can of gas. Started pump and let run for half hour recirculating the fuel through the gas can. Then a quick few seconds with the oil poured in. note the LIGHT oil. Not heavy motor oil.
