Subject: Please help with head leaking question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hey all, Well my new Vw-remanufactured engine last exactly 3,900 miles before the passenger side head gasket started leaking!!! The person i bought it from told me to re-torque the head bolts and see if it stops.. is this normal to have to do this? Second.. if that does not fix it.. he want's me to pull the head and replace the gasket! What is this going to do? Why would the one i put in not leak like the one the builder put in? The heads are new AMC heads.... so i know they are not pitted.. what else would cause the leak? I am ready to pull the engine and put in a Tiico conversion.. i am sick of this.. please send me any thoughts on this... The engine is out of warranty by 3 weeks so i have to tread lightly on this... Thank you everyone, jesse 89 carat that is giving me an ulcer!
