You want sparks?!!! Pull the guts of the fuel pump from the outer can sometime and note the firework show from the brushes when it is powered up. I can understand that the arcing is suppressed whenever the fuel pump is primed, but I have to wonder what keeps the thing from going KA-BOOM as the system is filling or when it is running out of fuel.
