Joy: Yes, the coolant light will flash steadily if there is air in the top of the expansion tank (not the one behind the license plate-it's supposed to have some air- the one to the left, The sensor is a little finicky, but it's usually right. That doesn't mean it's hot in this case. Pretty confusing, because the same light will be flashing when it's overheating. If you're sure the coolant level is okay, just proceed cautiously, keeping an eye on the temp gauge. Al Brase Vanagons
