I just want to add some thought on unplugging to O2 sensor. When I bought my van the PO had replaced the engine and had never bothered to resplice the O2 sensor. The wires were there just not connected. The van ran just fine on my home trip from NC to MN. In fact it ran fine until I got around to splicing the new sensor. So I agree with Eric. If your on the road and suspect a failing O2 unplug it until you can get if fixed. The only difference I noticed when I spliced in the sensor was better gas mileage.

My 2 cents -Dave

I had a bad heat sensor and a bad thermostat, both of which Rocky found and replaced yesterday. They seem to have caused the new O2 sensor to get destroyed. So now I have a new-to-me O2 sensor, and she's running fine. > > > >No fuel pump/filter/hose problems at all. Even Rocky, who won't admit that any after-market part could work, had to admit that my fuel pump was just fine once the rest of it was fixed. No spark plug or distributor cap problems either. > > > >It's nice to be back at my favorite campground in Rapid City, SD - Lazy J, up on top of Mt. Rushmore Ave, sweeping vista of the whole city which looks nice from this distance, free wifi, laundry facilities, and run by super nice people whose only way to get rid of their excess homegrown tomatoes is to invite all their campers to take them. Yumm. And all this for only $10 a night with electric hookup (off season rate, I'll admit). So if you're in Rapid City and not camping with Rocky (a.k.a. Import Service, 3280 W. Chicago Street), do come here! > > > > > > > >Joy > > > >**************************************************************** > >Joy Hecht > >and Matilda, 1989 Burgundy Vanagon > > > >For musings about life and the vanadventures: > >http://users.rcn.com/jhecht/gypsy > > > >**************************************************************** > > > > > >
