Actually, Volkswagen did have a magazine full page ad in the late 80s that said in it's heading: "Its A Minivan That Moonlights". It shows a picture of a late 80s Westfalia with Poptop up and lit up on the inside to have the light showing through the curtains and the canvas.

For those who have the Vanagon Screensaver from Vanagon.com, it shows up every once and awhile.
