(a replacement valve costs more than an entire new tank with the new type autostop valves.) It could also be the regulator has failed. The only way to really test it out is to take to a gas service location for a full check. First make sure that the location also knows how to service the westy. Here I was fortunate that that the rv place right up the street knew how to service and inspect the systems when I first bought the van. If the button refuses to move it may be that the valve needs to be disassembled and rebuilt. (note two styles and only the brass one is rebuildable if you can still find a kit)
