When you say you have removed it from the door. What do you mean? I had this problem on the GoldBrick's driver side door last year. I ended up removing the whole lock mechanism and doing a thorough cleaning (it had gummed up over the years from all sorts of stuff.) After cleaning (I use brake cleaner as it will dissolve most oily residues and dries clean) it worked wonderfully easily. I think my comments on this can be found in the archives.
