my friend bought one relatively cheap at a National Auto, dunno if they got those over in michigan (i'd assume they would, otherwise they have a very misleading name) And hell, there's always K-Mart. Good luck man -Smokey ________________________________ From: Vanagon Mailing List on behalf of Darren Lastfogel Sent: Sat 10/9/2004 8:32 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: source for cheap aftermarket tach
Ed, $20 is a very good deal. Try swap meets and flea markets, JCW has some cheap guages $35 range, you could ask your FLAPS. But $20 is one hell of a Bargian. I was impressed with Paul's cheap tach installation seen here: http://www.pauldottrip.com/84vanagon/tach/tach.html I've been scouring walmarts in my area for this $20 tach, with no luck. Walmart drones/associates have told me that the gauges are only at walmarts that have the tire/auto centers, and at one of those the blue vest guy (he had over 10 pieces of flair!) told me that they had some a while back, but he thought they were phasing them out. This is a low priority project for me, so I'm trying to keep costs down to around the $20 mark. Has anybody seen a cheap tachometer at another retailer that they can recommend? Edward
