i'm new at this whole gig, but if there's one thing i learned, when the manual says something about removal, it means beat it out with a hammer. "carefully pry the strut from the ball bearing" screw that, that thing was rusted on IMABUS since it was born in Germany. -Smokey ________________________________ From: Vanagon Mailing List on behalf of Mark Fitzsimons Sent: Sun 10/10/2004 5:45 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: trans main shaft removal ??
I need some advice on trans main shaft removal from a diesel and an aircooled vanagon transmission. The bell housing is removed from the transmission, the circlip is off, the reverse gear slides to the rear............. .........now how do I get the main shaft out? It doesn't seem to "screw out" like Bentley says it will! mark mark fitzsimons portland, or |
