The body mods are one of the biggest turn offs for most doing mods. The
loss of cargo space to some is a major consideration. The two best chevy
mods I have seen actually used the chevy transaxle as well and were total
mods of the rear end. One of these was a 350 v8 the other was the v6.
Engine mounted in its normal chevy way facing forward with transmission to
rear. Both used the automatic.
