I think the best mod. like this would be to move a front wheel drive motor and trans axle to the rear of a vanagon. You would have to enlarge the opening of the engine compartment to encompass the area above the transaxle, but this would just be a cover and would not increase in height. You may end up with a second trunk in behind the engine. This may be my next big project.
