That is what gets done if you keep the transmission. You end up taking the firewall out and then designing new mounts for transmission and engine. You would almost have to use the automatics to do this because it is probably impossible to get a linkage back to the transmission that would work for a manual. The rear deck above the engine has to come up a minumum of about 4 inches for the six and about 6 inches for the eight. You have to cut the deck to get the opening enlarged in the right spots and then the box addition goes over the engine. That is why inlines that can be tilted and subaru engines have been the most prevalant mods. Little to no body modification. Custom assembled cv axels as well.
