Neither will admit it but they are COUSINS! Kaiser Wilhelm (Willy, the
guy who started WWI was Queen Victoria's grandson).
The Saxon of Anglo-Saxon is from a state in Germany. There was a lot of
badge engineering and over the channel ownership of companies,
especially prior to October 1939.
(There was also quite a close relationship between Dr. Porsche and Henry
Ford. He visited Dearborn in 1937. Notice the wide 5 lug pattern wheels,
and the styling of the original Bug.)
Funny thing was, representatives of the British auto industry toured the
VW plant in 1945 or 46 and declared  that the bug was absolutely no
threat to their part of the market.

something.I just considered it German Engineering Arrogance, but you may
be closer. Sorta like the level of understanding one must reach before
being ALLOWED to operate said wonderful vehicle!
