Now I have some more typical miles on my Westy after it (substantial) upgrade of it's interior and engine. Some observations:

Gas Mileage with a 6 cylinder towing a trailer on grades is a bit lower than I'd like (12-13 mpgs). The price one pays for power. My new interior is making me more attentive to cleaning up dirt and leaf litter. My Westy can't fit in many parking garages (which sucks where there is no other place to park). Toll plazas are MUCH more expensive (at least in Maryland) when you have more than 2 axles.... I notice a lot more quizzicle looks when I drive past (especially when hauling a trailer uphill at 65mph....) Good brakes are not a nicety but a necessity when traveling in construction zones.
