I doubt you could use a Coleman heater without
modifications, because they are designed to
take propane at tank pressure.  The catalytic
RV heaters (I have an Olympian) are designed
to run at low pressures.  I eventually chose
an unvented catalytic heater because I can
put it in and take it out in about five minutes,
and I am already using the space under my rear
seat.


I just put a tee in the propane line after the
regulator (outside!) and run a flexible hose
made for flammable gases through the window
to the heater.  The flexible hose is what
made the whole thing possible.  It was maybe
$20 from an industrial supply store.
