I am not sure which is the best way to go with this. My 81 needs the key
to lock the doors, and will open if you pull the handle. One thought is
that this is an issue for child safety, although the child should be
wearing a seat belt, so the worst thing to happen is someone takes off
your door :-)

On the other hand, I think being able to open the locked door, with the
handle is also a safety issue, as in get out of the car in a hurry, and
also makes it easier for the driver to reach over and pop the door open
for a passenger. Those little lock stubs are hard to get a grip on when
you are stretched out that far <g>

I like it the way it is. Takes a real effort to lock the keys inside, and
its easy to open the locked doors from the inside. Of course, I also like
the headlights being on the ignition key switch. Everyone to their own
ways I guess.
