Actually mentioning the older bugs that used the air pressure bottle for windshield washers it is the same principal for the brake bleeding. You are simply using air pressure to push the fluid through the lines to evacuate the air.

On some vw I simply use gravity if I am not in a rush. Open bleeder port and top of fluid reservoir, sit back put feet up, drink beer/coffee, wait for fluid to drip down the drip tube I have placed over the bleeder port.
