Actually, despite the labeling, the Kolbenschmidts are made in Spain for Kolbschmidt by AMC. It's an AMC head with Kolbenschmidt stampings. They are not German, no matter what the box says.

However they were fully assembled by AMC, not shipped bare to the U.S., so they are the same as my AMC heads (and do not have the suspect valve guides).

I haven't seen the Kolbenschmidt-branded ones for a while, though. There were a bunch of them around a couple of years ago (many of which actually came right from the AMC factory).
