My amends up front. My brother in Congress, AZ asks: "Has anybody had experience with electronic ignition such as Comp-u-fire, the one with a coil, and a sending unit inside the dist.? Have you fried one? How? Can you check or test to make certain the "unit" is good or bad? I have 12 volts to the coil but no spark at the plugs. I am also sending a picture to show how easy it is to check, change, trace the wiring, I do believe my problem is in the wiring....but then again?? Any ideas would be appreciated as I am out of ideas"......Thanks Les This set up is on a Pinto engine in a sand rail (if it helps, his son Mike has a 4-seater rail with a vw turbo generating 230 hp). He put it back together after a frame fix and paint, and when he started it it would not stop so he pulled the coil wire and then couldn't get it to restart. Thus, the above HELP request. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. He's headed to Glamis next weekend (10/22) and would like to take his rail, not his quad. Please send any info, advice, suggestions to me pmail and I'll forward. Bob Stevens '87 Westy Syncro http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tiico |
