So, does anybody know what brands of valves are out there and what are in these heads. I think OE in older type 2's came from 2 main suppliers: Ate (TRW ?) and Eaton Livonia. In my experience the Ate's were the best. I think 2.1's have sodium cooled stems, but I've never investigated. Most of these had the name and part number stamped on the stem near the keeper locks. I think I'd rather have the old Ate's than the new third world ones. Are Spain and Italy in this category? Some Italian valves are pretty good. I'd defer to others who have more empircal data. BOB?
