My brother-in-law is head of health and safety for a very large auto parts manufacturer. He travels all over the world checking on plants. He has been to England , Italy, Germany, Portugal, South africa, argentina,a few others and China. I asked him what do they build parts for in China and his answer was VW. However he said that none of the parts were for export they were all being used to supply assembly plants. These cars are all for local markets. He had to shut the plant completely down as they were nowhere near meeting their inhouse safety standards. The plant is a foundry but all the workers were wearing regular shoes. It was quite an interesting story he gave. By trhe way they are building rabbits at the vw plant no vanagons!! Patrick 85 westy, appin ont |
