Why spend money on the rear brakes? Make sure there are fresh shoes there and you are set. 70% of your braking is done at the front brakes - this is of course unless you do a lot of heavy trailer hauling. Going to Audi 100 or SA brakes up front are well worth the money but spending anything on the rear brakes, to me at least, is a pure waste. I have alloys on my TriStar and I just took a wire brush to the drums to get the major rust off of them and then painted them black with gloss black anti-rust [Tremclad] paint. Looks decent enough and there is no screwing around with the rather poorly designed VW/Audi ebrake system that seems to seize up all the time on their rear brakes. Owned a few rear disc VW/Audi vehicle to realize this one. I just replaced my wheels and tires with the 15" alloy wheels that Go Westy sells, and the Michelin "Hydro-Edge tires that they recommend. The front disk brakes look just OK, but the rear drums look rather bad, and quite rusty.
