C'mon George, the Chinese (Taiwanese, Malaysians, Pakistanis- anywhere where labor costs are low) ship dreck here because that is what American importers order or worse yet, specify. The importer/distributor takes a sample, asks to have it made to a cost and gladly sells it to you. Don't blame the maker. They're just filling the American importers requests. You want a jack for $50 or crayons for 10 cents? well what do you expect. You can buy a SONY (made in Taiwan) that meets high quality specs or an off brand that doesn't for much less. As a wise mentor once said (well in fact, a lot more than once) "buy cheap, buy twice."
