It appears to me that vanagon-request is getting spoofed messages (with unpleasant payloads no doubt) that appear to come from vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com, so it's sending back the standard ACK message -- which gets distributed to all of us. Thank goodness the list address doesn't ACK 'cause it would trip the 200-post limit in a flash and shut down the list.
