I like the Ultra Copper Silicone good to 700 degrees. Not that hard to get apart later. it would work all by itself if you dont make a gasket. Your local car parts place should have some gasket material you could use.

If I had no gasket material for this job I would use a very light coat of ultra copper and use small strips of Nashua adhesive backed foil tape you can buy for your water heater vent to seal the edge of the burner pot.
