In the US, 1980 was the first model year of the vanagon or T3. If it was a T3 built in July 79, it was still a 1980. It takes a little lead time to get the Westy conversion, so it is entirely possible that VW routed some of its first T3 production over to Westfalia Werke. Actually, I think US manufacturers don't switch over till about August 15, but it is whatever VW says it is. I thought you'd made a mistake when you announced you were having leaks on your 92. Then I rememberd you used to have NSW or some god forsaken place in your sig line! Do you know if later Vanagons ever had ABS? That is one option I would really like. After as many years as I've practiced getting out of skids, when I hit the last deer, I skidded maybe 75 feet before I came to my senses. I didn't even come close to having as much control as I would have with ABS. This is one reason why I'd ever get anything other than a Vanagon. Air bags? Naw, I always wear my seat belt.
