Subject: P22 Westy layout

For those who have never seen the rare early P22 West interior there is one for sale on Ebay right now with photos, though somewhat fuzzy.

The P22 has no propane. Thus no stove and no true fridge. It has a stainless sink and an icebox style "fridge" that require blocks of ice to keep stuff cold. It has a 10 gallon water tank that fits under the bed. One advantage is that is has a full width bench seat and so a wider bed for sleeping and more comfortable seating for just hanging out in the rear. It also has both tables and the standard poptop with bed that full Westys have. Not a bad setup for many people but I like the propane models myself.

A friend of mine and I converted one of these to propane by installing a Westy 3 way Dometic in place of the icebox and mounting the Westy stove in the stainless sink top next to the sink. A sweet setup that I have since seen was a factory layout in some European models. He still has that camper, done to a Wolfsburg Poptop Syncro, 1986 model.
