I use a combo of either Bar-buoy or caddie-buoy and have in my cars for years, The drawback is that you have to semi-perm mount the mounting clip to a secure part of the dash. but it's very stable, even in my cabriolet ana baja. I buy extra mounts for each vehicle and transfer the cup holder to the one i'm driving. sometimes I forget but for the most part I like them http://www.allaboutboating.com/store/products/doSearch~manufacturerID~BAR-BUOY.htm
