Larry Hamm has done this - put the Syncro 4WD system into a Westy.

For a description got to the syncro@yahoogroups.com page (you will have to be a member of yahoogroups) and go to the files section. Check in the modifications folder and there is a file titled 2WD to 4WD by Hamm which I compiled from some of his posts on this and / or the Syncro list and posted there with his permission.
