Hi Doug,

I will chime in on this, having done this conversion to a 1979 Baywindow bus. In the winter of 2000/2001 I transferred a 1974 pop-top onto a transporter body. Including the time to harvest the donor roof and prep for a repaint the process took a total of 100 man-hours. It would have taken a lot less time if I had already known how to weld, and even less time if I had used autobody epozy in place of welding. YMMV.

There weren't actually a lot of tools involved, We did most of the work with an angle grinder, cutoff wheels, a 110V wirefeed gas welder and a couple of wrenches.
