I have to agree with Sam on this matter. I'm happy to know that Mark Drillock and Karl Bloss are happy with their conversions. If you are looking just for standing room, then the cut and paste solution to adding a poptop is fine. However, it is a half-donkey solution if you want the full benefits of an upper berth. The space that can be used for cushions is minimal when the arched roof structure is left in.

To each his own. It is unfortunate that some of these half done solutions have been cropping up on ebay as "Westfalia camper conversions".
