Yes, some are and some aren't. I only carry two of the plastic blocks (Lynx Levelers) anymore and don't use the Westy fridge, opting for a large cooler with separate ice tub that holds 20-25 Lb. of ice (a Coleman that you can't buy anymore) so I don't have to be too level. And also yes, they can be too civilized. As for the cost, in the U.S., if you are over 62 (I am), you can get a Golden Age Pass that will get you half off most, but NOT all, federal sites which includes national parks, forest service, BLM (Bureau of Land Management), COE (Corps of Engineers, army, don't ask :)),etc. But now many of these have been farmed out to private companies that might not honor the pass.
