I searched the archives but didn't really come up with anything useful... I have an '87 GL with auto tranny and I've been mulling over an I4 conversion for some time now. I was in a local junkyard today and saw an intact diesel Vgon. I didn't think to get the year but I can get it, of course (if it matters much). I'm wondering what can be used from that van for a conversion, as opposed to going the 'conversion kit' route- I seem to recall reading about the oil pan and the frame-side motor mounts, but nothing else jumps out. Sorry to be vague, but- can anybody detail this for me, or point me to a list or report from somebody that's done it? Or should I forget it and focus on a kit? Thanks, Robert |
