And removes resonances, yes, agreed. Also the door is much heavier now :-( and closes with a nice "thump" :-) But: The noise level in the van did not drop. Measured many times before and after. This was the whole point of the conversation. It's like fixing a small hole in a pail, if the bottom has already dropped out. Gotta go for the biggest source of noise first.
