Having spent a night (or two) at commercial kampgrounds (KOA) this year. I'd have to agree with you. My favorite camping nights were a night in the spring on top of Shenandoah Mountain (George Washington National Forest). being seranaded by Barred Owls as I was falling asleep...and my expedition on the fireroads in the Olympic National Forest (not to be confused with the nearby Olympic National Park) where I found a nice (drippy) spot to spend the night in quiet solitude. Having a syncro Westy really lets you hunt out those spots were you can enjoy the sounds of nature, and not the sounds of your neighboring campers. PS, At Syncro de Mayo Este where I camped on my own WV property, I was able to hear Barred Owls as well, but they weren't nearly as close and the coyote yowls were a bit more noticable....
