I hear that!!!
In all my years in The Great Land I never hit a moose - a few near
misses - but never hit one, thank The Maker.
I have however, been on the butchering crews more times than I can count
salvaging roadkill moose for the charities. Middle of the night, dead of
winter, butchering a moose on the side of the road by head lights
....... it was the nuts!!!! But Alaskans being who they are......
charitable and all that.... you know.
Ocassionally some one would donate the neck to me for the effort, and I
got to keep the keep the hide too. The hide makes incredible moose
moccasins and other things, and the moose neck???? how about 100 lbs of
hamburger!!!!
Not bad. Most peopel don't want to fool with the neck .... not even
charities, but it was worth it to me.

John Rodgers
