I have a 91 Carat, which I silenced, execpt for the footwells that are
by the door bottom.  These areas have no sound deadening treatment.
 According to my meter they are real noise cuprits.

Other stuff I did.  Used batting, the material used to stuff throw
pillows, stuffed animals, and etc, to stuff the spaces beneath my dash,
up next to the sheet metal that forms the upper panel on the front of
the van.  That panel generates noise, noise, noise.  Before I stuffed
it,  I use a lenght of rubber hose, like a stetisope( sp) to locate all
air leaks at 65 mph.  Have an assistant drive the van.  I used 3M body
caulk to plug all air leaks. Then I stuffed the front cavity.

I added sound deadening carpet beneath both seats, as this was a big
noise too.

Next I added a similiar sound deadening pad beneath my rear cushion, ie
over the engine compartment.

  The next project  on my list was the foot wells.  I had planned on
making a fiberglass insert which would cover the area beneat the
footwell, then just fill the cavity with insulation.
