'cept on sandstone. great camping surface because you don't track anything into your van, and if there is wind you don't get dust. Rain doesn't create mud. A very nice surface to camp on. I find and use sandstone strata pieces. Nice and flat and you can always find just the right size to level the van. I use a small (2-3") level on the driver's door and the front edge of the dash for front/back, R/L leveling ... then leave the van running and open the side door to see if it rolls equally fore/aft. just to be sure. Sometimes I have to bring a rock over to act as a step to get into the van more easily.
