There are some larger type Motorhomes ( Now Iīm talking european large, 25-30 ft :)) that only have access door on the "livingroom", none up in the driving area.... Somehow I donīt think this is to prevent noice though, rather antitheft insurance (?) Or maybe itīs to make it more like an appartment with only one entrance But the Idea about noice reduction is good even if I would like to suggest some add ons ...... Anything not flush creates noice, if you look at modern design cars there are almost never any ehh gutters (??) on them so grinding those off would be the first step! When you weld the roof back to the body, weld the doors too but donīt stop with front only, shut the slider, there is a large rear hatch on the vanagon ! Then you fill the walls with insulation.... Frontdoor windows has to go, there must be one-piece available ! Smaller mirrors are a must, maybe racing type ?? Thereīs also the large wheelarchs, after the loweringkit is in place, try to bring the wheel out as flush with the edge as possible or make yourself some fenderskirts ! Then you have the vipers, front grill etc. block or take away anything you donīt use.... Now youīll have a quiet Vanagon with improved mileage that is almost worthless for everyday use since itīs so tough to get in or out of Maybe a new hipower soundsystem or earplugs would be a cheaper and better solution anyway ;-)

Have a nice weekend

Calle
