JD wrote that he had his insurance doubled after he avoided a deer but damaged the vehicle. I went through the same thing with my insurance company. I managed to avoid hitting a guy that cut me off by climbing a center divider and taking out a street sign with my '90 Westy. The insurance company told me bluntly that if I had hit the guy it would have shown that he cut me off but otherwise it would go into the record as 'At Fault'. They changed their minds and changed it to 'Not at Fault' after I provided a copy of the police report that said it was the other guys fault. I even collected my deductible from his insurance company. If he hadn't stopped and could be identified, I'd have been SOL. Now I have Volkscafe bumpers and the next little mini pickup that cuts me off just may get creamed. And when furry things run in front of you, don't risk life, limb, and equipment by going into the ditch or worse. When it comes to quick maneuvers the Vanagon is just to damn big and heavy.
