Hi Chuck,

Digital photography will completely replaced conventional film for most
practical purposes within 2-3 years.  Trust me. Even the industrial
applications (Printing Industry & Portrait) have already made the
transition to digital.

But if you must...
Get yourself a red nylon tent. wait until dark, and put your lantern
outside. Instant darkroom.  If you're really remote, it should be dark
enough unless you have a bright full moon. If there's no moon, get a
red gel for the lantern and work outside.

Working with chemistry in the wilderness sounds like a lot of bother...
just keep your film in a cool dry place and process it when you get
back.  If you can't wait for results, then you've already admitted that
digital photography is better. Get over it.
