Hi all,

I am looking for roof rack for my 87 westy. I am planning on putting a luggage box up on the pop top, maybe a windsurf board too. The PO had something installed, there are 4 inox/steel plate screwed to the pop-top. I thought it was for the awning, but I realized later that those are made to attach the roof rack legs to it. I put some images on Flickr: http://flickr.com/photos/64404571@N00/ Those are a thin metal plates, and the rack legs are supposed to attach to the top of it (embrassing it). . It takes a leg that grabs the plate (hope that is clear enough).

I am looking for some info to get the right rack. What is a VW option? I have seen it before. What's the name of the company? Or better: does anyone know what is the name/reference of the right rack legs for this?

JP

PS: If someone knows it on top of his head: what length of his bars. Right now I am looking at some infor from Thule: http://www.thuleracks.com/thule/fg_foot.asp?sport=25&Continue.x=21&Continue.y=7&Continue=Continue&make=Volkswagen&sku=&car_id=1360&year=1987&factory_id= 87 westy: it says LB58 (58 inches that does not make sense, a Westy is 73 inches wide). So I guess 74 and up (there are 78'' bars)
