Hey Dennis,

You made some good points I'd like to comment on:

> The tail light sockets will melt. > The headlight switch will fail. The ebay guy says he's been running his for years with no ill effects. (Not that I believe everything I read on the net.)

> Reduced contrast of the brake to tail lights. Yes. (See bottom)

> 400 watts for rear tail lights if all bulbs are lighted. 38% of total > alternator capacity for tail lights! All lights are intermittent use except tail/parking lights, unless you spend a lot of time in reverse with the brakes applied and the hazards on! (See bottom)

> The bulbs won't last. I don't see why 21W bulbs would last any longer than 50W bulbs. Anyway, the bulbs are intermittent use except the tail/parking lights. (See bottom)

> Annoying glare to drivers behind you. They're not THAT bright, compared to other cars on the road.

> Won't stop idiots from rear ending you. Depends on the idiot.

I think your brake/tail light contrast comment is worth acting on: I have a few spare bulbs from past cars and I think I'll put in some slightly larger ones for the tail lights, but not the OEM "candles". This also saves the light switch and reduces other problems you discuss.

Thanks!
