Ken, If you take a look at the pictures on Terry's site, one of them shows a side by side comparison of available LED aftermarket bulb replacement, with one of his higher-wattage bulbs. No comparison, and I've been running these in my '85 Westy for two years, with no discoloration or melting! YMMV, and I've been running the headlight relay upgrade he sells, for the same amount of time, with no problems at all! All in all, quite pleased with the increased visibility to other drivers.
