Install the cat. Get out on the highway and run at highway speeds for about an hour. That should clean it. If you want to remove that carbon you can spray EZ-Off oven cleaner in there (wear eye protection and a breathing mask) it will dissolve the carbon. After a 20 minute soaking you can just hose it out with a garden hose. Be sure the cleaning process is done over a tray or bucket because the EZ OFF will kill grass for the season.

Hey All, Bought a used catalytic converter with 90,000 miles on it. It's not clogged but there is a good bit of carbon buildup on the comb inside... before i slap it on my van .. i wanted to know.. can you clean the inside with something like carb cleaner to remove any build up? Anyone have any experience on this? thanks everyone, jesse 89 carat
