Muahahahaha! That's the PERFECT place! I can't believe I didn't notice it when I had the glovebox out to clean up the water that leaked in after the big rain last week (3M Drip-Chek is already ordered-- the fixing of a Vanagon never ends, does it).

Heh. I can't add so much as a pencil now with all I got in there.

I've already got plans for that space! Some sort of recessed magazine-rack type thingy to hold all my extra maps and the like-- just waiting to find something I can put in there that won't look bad-- though it'll be competing with the stained and torn gray vinyl covered masonite, so I guess I could use almost anything. It'd be nice to have aplace for my maps. Can you believe the map pocket was left off of the base model in '90? Every nickel counted, I guess.

Hmmm....it only that space were easy to get into, I'd have a perfect place to keep stuff like the tow strap, magnetic window screens, and rear hatch snap in screen. I may have to do Dremeling...
